4 Simple steps to combat Gum Disease!

Wednesday, September 5th, 2007

1. The 2 minute Rule!

Brush very gently for at least 2 minutes, this doesn’t sound very long but get a watch and time yourself and i guarantee you will be very surprised! 2 minutes of brushing optimises the removal of plaque and food debris that you consume on a daily basis.

Brush at least twice a day!

2. Don’t neglect Flossing

Flossing is really important and is often neglected, it gets into those hard to reach places (between the teeth) that a tooth brush just can’t reach.

3. Cut out commercial toothpaste and mouthwash

Yes you heard that right, commercial toothpastes and mouthwash contain several irritants that can make your teeth and gum problems 10 times worse, Opt for a natural toothpaste that doesn’t contain fluoride or SLS (Sodium Lauryl Sulphate) such as Oram Plus

4. Don’t use tobacco products if at all possible.

Smoking has now been proven to be one of the leading factors in the formation of periodontis, so if you were thinking of quitting this could serve as quite a motivator!!

Are You brusing your teeth with Toxic Waste?

Wednesday, September 5th, 2007

Nearly 100% of ALL commercial toothpastes/mouthwash contain fluoride

Fluoride is an acute toxin with a toxic rating higher than that of lead. According to the “Clinical Toxicology of Commercial products”, Fluoride is given a toxicity rating of 4 (3 being moderately toxic, 4 being very toxic) and is actually classed ‘scientifically’ as a toxic waste!

The US Public Health Service has now made a statement that fluoride can make the bones (including teeth) more brittle and dental enamel more porous & spongy.  Not only that, but it’s also proven to be linked to dental fluorosis (which causes random white patches on and around the teeth)…

OK now hands up who wants to brush their teeth with toxic waste?

….mmmm i thought not, I highly recommend you use a good ’Fluoride Free’ natural anti-bacterial toothpaste
