What are Receding Gums?
Sometimes gum disease is called “periodontal disease.” Periodontal refers to the area around the tooth, or the gums. When this area becomes infected with bacteria, it affects not only the gums, but also the bone that supports the tooth. As the infection progresses, the gums pull away from the teeth.
Pockets form along the gum line. Bacteria grows in these pockets. A dentist or dental hygienist can discover these pockets by inserting a tool into them. A treatment from the dental hygienist will involve placing antibacterial powder down into these pockets. A treatment like this is very expensive, and is not expected to halt the progression of the disease for good, but only to slow it down.
As the gums recede, the supporting bone also begins to disintegrate. Ultimately, if the progression is not halted, the teeth will fall out. Fortunately, there are natural methods of treating receding gums & gum disease. One of the most effective is Oram Plus, a blend of healing essential oils. A couple of drops is all it takes to add the healing essence to your gums and begin the process of restoring your dental health.
